Christmas at Nona and Dewey's

Once we had breakfast and the girls got to enjoy their gifts for a little bit, we headed over to my parents for presents and dinner.  My Nona has been coming up the past few years to celebrate Christmas with us, which is so nice!  The girls really love seeing her (so do we of course) and it's nice to be able to share this holiday with her.

The way she was sitting was killing me.  Don't mind her outfit.  When she gets things that she likes, she immediately has to put them on.  Hence the outfit changes almost every pic!  This was so layered, had me dying!  A purple tutu dress, blue tutu, leggings and her vest.  Had me dying.

We had so much fun!  Dinner was amazing and it was just so nice to all be together.  I love my family!  

Christmas morning

Christmas morning, such a fun time.  Whenever I think about it, I reminisce about my childhood and my Christmas mornings.  Waking up at the butt crack of dawn!  Taking turns in the bathroom as my dad went downstairs to "make sure Santa came," turn on the yule log (cause we were totally one of those families who had it on) and open the blinds and all.  The rest of us would be upstairs, trying to peek down to see the goods as my mom would tell us to stop peeking!  We'd wait in line, in age order, at the top of the stairs for my dad's ok to come down and off we'd dart down those stairs to see what Santa left for us.  God, I can seriously remember it so clearly.  I'm so happy that we're doing the same for our girls.  Although, I'm the one who's been up first every year so far, trying to be loud enough in the bathroom to wake them up.  This year, I even went into their room, "to see if they were awake" cause I was so excited for them to see what Santa left for them.  It's so amazing to watch their faces light up, hear their screams of joy as they open up that gift that they had asked for all December long!  Just fills my heart with so much joy and happiness.  This year, unlike other years, I was ahead of the game.  I had everything wrapped and ready to just place under the tree.  Although I just wanted to move some of the furniture around so we were able to set up the tent and tea set that Santa left for them.  Ry thought I was crazy, as he always does, but agreed to help, like he always does!  Love him!  Here we are, ready to go!!!!

Christmas Eve

For the past few years we've spent Christmas Eve at Nunu and Pop Pop's house.  This year was a little more low key, which was nice.  We headed there after church and spent some well over due time with Alycia and her fiancé, Binoy, Jonathan, Kim, Lexi, Michael, Laura, Nunu and PopPop.

Our little angel

Now that Mya is in a Catholic school, I was super excited about the fact that they'd have a Christmas show.  However, they don't at SMS!  UGH!  I was bummed, but when we got a letter home saying that the children could be a part of the gospel during the children's mass, I was happy.  I asked Mya if she wanted to and she immediately said yes!  YAY!  So the week before and week of Christmas she had 2 rehearsals.  The first one they picked out what they wanted to be.  They obviously had Mary and Joseph, shepherds, angels, animals and narrators.  Originally Mya kept saying she wanted to be an angel, but when we got there, she changed her mind and said she wanted to be Mary.  Luckily they picked the names out of a hat, and a 4th grader got the role!  LOL!  So, back to the angel she went.  Pretty much all the girls were angels and all the boys were either shepherds or animals. 

It was Christmas Eve and they wanted the kids to get to the Church an hour early.  They also told us that it fills up fast so to get there even earlier.  SO, I told Ry I wanted to get there by 2:30 so we could be in the front.  He thought I was crazy, ant this is coming from a man who loves to be early, but an hour and a half was a bit much for him.  We had to save almost an entire row though cause my parents and Nona were coming (thanks for coming!).  No worries, they were playing music and it was fine anyway.
