BOOOOO

I get a call last night from my little brother, Pete, also known as, Uncle Marine. Sweet, I thought, I always LOVE hearing from him. His voice was somewhat monotone, I immediately thought, NO, where is he going??? He said that in 19 days, they're shipping him, and I think 125 other marines, to Haiti. 2 thoughts immediately ran through my head, the 1st was, NO, I thought he wasn't supposed to go anywhere for 18 months once he arrived in Camp Lejeune (he arrived there the beginning of Nov), the 2nd thought was, well at least it's not a combat zone, however, i'm not really sure what it's like over there to be quite honest. I know that he's a Marine and that it's wonderful that he'll be helping the people in Haiti, who have lost so much in the past month and a half. But at the same time, I'm being selfish and thinking, but he's going to be gone for 4 months (he's going till July) and we won't be able to see him at all, and will probably have very little communication with him. He'll miss Mya's 1st birthday, that makes me so sad. When I think of Mya's 1st birthday I think of all the people who I want to be there and OF COURSE, my little brother is at the top of the list. It's been a hard year with him being gone. He missed Mya's birth, he missed all of the HUGE milestones in her first year. When he's home, it's hard to share him, because he's got a girlfriend, and he's got a ton of friends that we've got to share his time with. I know how hard that is being that I went to school out of state. When I came home for a long weekend all I wanted to do was hang out with Ryan. Now I see it from the other side, being the sister and ya know, not being the top priority. I totally understand what that's like now. And I understand if we only get a quick, 30 minute visit, I totally appreciate that 30 minute visit and would take that above no visit at all, ANY DAY! When he came to see us this past weekend, it was so sweet seeing him interact with Mya. Mya may not see him (in person) that often, but I truly think she knows who he is. I show her pictures of him all the time, saying, here's Uncle Marine (or Uncle Ooh-rah, very rarely is he Uncle Pete), he's serving out country, YAYYY, and she gets all excited! When he comes to visit, she gets excited, she smiles, she claps for him, it's sweet. All I know is that once this damn 4 year gig is up, they'll have a TON of catching up to do!!!!! I know that it's only 3 more years, but damn, I MISS YA BROTHA!!!!

the good and the bad

Lets start with the good!!!!! First off I'd like to welcome our newest niecey (and Mya's cuz) into the world, born yesterday, Feb 17th at 1:05am, weighing in at 7lbs 6ozs, Sophia Lily!!!!

Isn't she just absolutely adorable!!!! I cannot wait to hold her, kiss her, hug her and love her!!!!! Congrats Jen, Jack and Ava!! The cutest is that Ava's middle name is Rose and Sophia's is Lily, such an adorable little flower family!!!! LOVE THEM!!!!

Next, I wanna say that pretty much all of my friends (ok not all of them, but lots of them) are pregnant right now. I'm SOOOOO excited for all the little babies coming our way. Here's a line up:
Kelly and Tony - Due on Mya's birthday (yup, that's right, due 4.8, SO CUTE) with little Grace Elizabeth
Regan and John - Due on 7.16
Colleen and Brando - Due on 8.27
Rachel and Will - Due on 9.27 (that's one day before our anniversary, AWW!!!)
CONGRATS GUYS, we can't wait to meet all the new snugglepuppies!!!!!!

Mya was totally in love with John, it was so cute. She was drinking her bottle and would lean over on the couch to check him out. Than as they were leaving I wanted to take a pic of the 3 of them, Mya leaned her head on him, OMG so sweet!!!! They're going to be such amazing parents to their little peanut!!!!



Last night I got a ladies night, something that was TOTALLY overdue. We need to do this weekly, or every other week AT LEAST!!! I miss my ladies. We hit up good ole raffertys for some dinner and drinks (well for Tabi and I at least, Col just sniffed mine, lol). After 4 pics, we found one good one!!!! lol, love you girls!! Oh and by the way Tabi, your shirt totally looks pink in this pic (HAHA you're wearing PINK, you GIRL!!!). Sorry hun, it looked red last night.

Pete was also home this past weekend, we saw him on Monday night. He hasn't seen Mya since she was in the hospital, it was SO good to see him.


Now, I guess onto the bad. Yesterday I was talking about how Mya is finally 100% from her month of hell with the pneumonia, cold after cold after cold. She was off the nebulizer for 3 days, no runny nose, no cough, 100% right? Until last night, I come home and thought she felt warm, Ry says no, you were just outside and your hands are cold, fine I let it go. She wasn't very hungry for dinner and yawning at like 6pm, she usually goes to bed 7:30-8ish. We give her her tub at 6:45 and she's great, loving the tub as usual, playing, laughing and all. We take her out and it's around 7ish, I said to Ry, she feels hot, I'm taking her temp. We take it and it's 101.6!!!!! I almost cried, like seriously, HOW ON EARTH could our little girl be sick again, SO NOT FAIR!! I call the Dr and make an appt for first thing this morning. She slept fine, woke at 4, had a 100.6 temp. This morning her temp was at 101.4. The Dr checks her out, listens to her back and chest, everything sounded fine. Checks out her ears, BOTH of them are red, she's got a double ear infection!!!!! I immediately start crying, how can my baby girl have to go through all this??? WHY?? I just wanted to take those ear infections and beat the crap outta them! You would have NEVER been able to tell if she hadn't had a fever (although Aunt Mary informed me that she's been tugging her ears today and started screaming when she laid her down to change her diaper, poor pooks). So, back on antibiotics for 10 days. Here she is this morning before leaving for the Dr. Happy little lovebug.

And I'll end with a video of Mya. She says hot, well more like hhhhaaaaaaa. It's SO cute. But whats even cuter is when she tries to say Lola. Check out her tongue. Can you even take the cuteness?!!! Next I gotta get this funny, scrunchy nose face she makes, SO CUTE!!!!

lovin this snow!

We got a snow day today, not just me, but Ry ry too!!!!! It was SO nice to be home, mid-week, and just hang out all day!!!!! We started the day off with some blueberry pancakes. Mya, of course, LOVED them!!!

When she's had enough, she takes the pieces and throws them on the ground for the dogs. Needless to say, Lola and Spike absolutely love her!

Yesterday was a snow day here in NJ! We woke up with about 5" and it kept coming down. It was SO pretty and Mya LOVED watching it. There are LOADS and LOADS of pics, I just couldn't help myself, there were SO many good ones that Ry got!

No, we weren't giving Mya capri sun. Ry and I love them (we're not 12 years old, they're just good!) and she always wants them when we drink them. So we pretend and put the straw to her mouth and she thinks she's drinking it, lol!
